Jeff Green was tired. Even superstar Kevin Durant admitted the same. The two were coming off injured ankles and didn't know how exactly they would react Monday night against Minnesota in their first game back. Green caught his second wind, and made the game-winning 3-pointer with less than a minute to play as the Thunder won their fifth game in a row with a 117-107 victory over the Timberwolves.

Not only was Friday's 89-84 win over Boston probably the Thunder's most impressive since the franchise moved to Oklahoma City, the fact it was done without Kevin Durant and Jeff Green just adds to the accomplishment.

With the two mainstays out again Saturday, the Thunder pulled out an 82-81 win at Milwaukee.

"I knew going into the (Boston) game that we would have to play just an ugly game, if you want to call it ugly, but our guys really battled and picked up the effort throughout the game, and it was a good win for us," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. "Having KD and Jeff out, it's not the easiest thing to do."

The Thunder's second unit has come up big, with key performances from seldom-used players D.J.

James Harden and Russell Westbrook are taking turns picking up the Oklahoma City Thunder in the absence of Kevin Durant. Westbrook scored 18 points, making two free throws with 7.3 seconds left to lift the Thunder to an 82-81 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night. Harden did his part, too.

The Oklahoma City Thunder couldn't hit a shot, and they didn't have Kevin Durant or Jeff Green to save them. Finally, Russell Westbrook stepped to the line and hit a pair of foul shots with 13.4 seconds left to hold off the Celtics. Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant will miss Friday night's game against Boston because of a sore left ankle. Durant had been a game-time decision, but a Thunder spokesman said about an hour before tipoff that Durant would not play. Durant took a couple of hard falls in Wednesday night's game against Houston, but did not leave that game.

Coach Scott Brooks struck a chord to get the Oklahoma City Thunder playing better together on offense. He told his players that all they had to do to earn a day off was get 20 assists against the Houston Rockets. The plan worked so well that Kevin Durant and some of the Thunder's other starters started their time off a little early.
