Trevor Ariza scored 31 points and hit five 3-pointers, and the Rockets closed an exhausting run of four games in five days with a 95-90 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night.

The Oklahoma City Thunder keep finding young players to add to their improving team. Kevin Durant scored 27 points, and a pair of rookies led Oklahoma City on a key run in the fourth quarter as the Thunder snapped a three-game losing streak with a 109-98 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.

Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks found a way to outshine even Kevin Durant's new Creamsicle orange Nike sneakers. Nowitzki scored 13 of his 35 points in the final 8 minutes and the Mavericks used a late surge to spoil Durant's sneaker debut and beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 100-86 Wednesday night for their fifth straight win.
