February 23, 2009

Mikki Getting Offers: Free agent Mikki Moore has been getting a lot of attention lately, and even a few contract offers. Moore's agent Mark Bartelstein has told reporters that his client has several offers to sift through and that making a decision is going to be tough. Moore has gotten a contract offer from the Boston Celtics, according to Marc J. Spears of the Boston Globe . The Denver Nuggets were also rumored to have interest in Moore, and with forward Nene going down last night with a knee injury, the Nuggets could step up their pursuit. Sources close to the situation say that Moore's motivation may not be tied solely to where he could win a championship, rather landing in a situation with a defined future. The Celtics, Nuggets, Lakers and Rockets are all said to have interest in Moore's services.

Morning Report: The Free Agents

February 20, 2009

The Free Agents: With the NBA trade deadline officially in the books, the next order of business is those pesky buyouts and free agents. A player must be waived by March 1st to be eligible for the playoffs. A player waived after March 1st can still sign with a playoff team, he just would not be able to play in the post-season, making the next 9 days an interesting time for guys who wanted to be traded and ultimately were not included in deals. Here is a list of guys you are going to hear a lot about in the coming days.

Voided deal doesn’t stop Thunder at trade deadline (AP)

February 20, 2009

Undeterred by a trade that was rescinded because of a failed physical, the Oklahoma City Thunder moved ahead Thursday with deals that brought in guard Thabo Sefolosha from Chicago and forward Malik Rose from the New York Knicks. The Thunder sent a first-round pick in this June's draft to the Bulls for Sefolosha, who could fill a hole in Oklahoma City's backcourt.
