Southwest Toughest Once Again: The NBA's Southwest Division - home to the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Hornets and San Antonio Spurs – is once again the toughest division in the league. Through Sunday four of the teams – all the ones not in Memphis – had a winning percentage of .600 or better. The Grizzlies, at .333, are the best last-place team in the Western Conference, for whatever that's worth.

Baron Return Part 2: Call it buyers remorse or simply two seasons going nowhere but a recent story in the Contra Costa Times might not be as far fetched as you might think. Injured Warriors' guard Stephen Jackson admitted to reporters that he and former Warrior and current Clipper Baron Davis spent a considerable amount of time together Saturday and after that meeting Jackson says he is starting the "Bring B.D. Back" campaign.

NBA history was made on Saturday night, but not the kind the Oklahoma City Thunder and Washington Wizards wanted. The Thunder entered with an NBA-worst 3-27 record, with the Wizards at 4-23. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, there had never been an NBA game matching teams with individually lower winning percentages -- .100 for Oklahoma City and .148 for Washington -- and each squad having...

The Washington Wizards didn't care that they beat a team with only three wins. They were just happy they won at all. The Wizards beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 104-95 on Saturday night in a matchup of teams with the two worst records in the NBA. They broke an eight-game losing streak, their longest since 2001, with just their fifth win against 23 losses.

Allen Iverson kept the ball this time. A week after passing up a chance at a winning shot against the Utah Jazz, Iverson hit an off-balance runner with 0.2 seconds left to give the Detroit Pistons a 90-88 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night. "The play was for me to run the clock down and try to get to the basket," he said.

So Long Orlando: The NBA after years of hearing how useless the Pre-Draft camps have become has given into the pressure and conceded victory for the agents. In a memo sent to NBA teams last month the league has decided it will not return to Orlando this summer, instead in its place will be a scaled back "camp" in Chicago, which will be mainly for private interviews, medical testing and measures. There will not be organized games in Chicago, although it's expected the bulk of NBA decision makers will still meet in Chicago in late May, as the "camp" has always been the breeding ground for draft day trades and lobbying and networking for coaching and front office jobs. For years the value of the "Pre-draft Camp" has decreased as more and more of top talent chooses to skip the camp in favor of picking select individual team workouts. Word is that the league will also remove the bulk of their workout restrictions from the teams. Last year teams were not able to work out players until after the camp, this year those restrictions may be done away with entirely, although a league source said yesterday that, that particular issue has not been decided. One NBA Insider said the decision to lift restrictions on workouts would likely have a dramatic impact on college basketball, saying from what's been circulating around the NBA, teams could theoretically start working guys out the day their season ends in April, which could radically change the landscape of training and in whether guys just quit working in college altogether to prepare for workouts beginning in March. League sources said they doubted that there would be no restrictions at all, but one thing is clear the decision to phase out the Pre-draft Camp will impact the fringe guys that are not sold on their place in the league and even more power will be heaped on to the agents who have become the chief manipulators of how the draft process goes.

If only Joe Johnson had hit a few more jump shots. Maybe a higher percentage from the field would've left him satisfied after his second career triple-double. Johnson had 20 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for his first triple-double in nearly three full seasons, and Marvin Williams scored 21 points in the Atlanta Hawks' 99-88 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night.
