Longtime NBA assistant Ron Adams has been hired to complete Oklahoma City Thunder interim coach Scott Brooks' staff. Adams' hiring fills the vacancy created when Brooks was promoted to replace fired head coach P.J. Carlesimo. Adams has served as an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Bucks (1998-2003), Philadelphia 76ers (1994-96) and San Antonio Spurs (1992-1994).

Trade rumors are inevitable for a team out of the playoff race and building for the future. With the worst record in the NBA and one of the lowest payrolls, a number of Thunder players can expect to hear their names bandied about leading up to the trade deadline.
Among those who figure to be targeted: Joe Smith, Nick Collison, Chris Wilcox, Earl Watson, Desmond Mason and Damien Wilkins. Each is considered a solid veteran with a manageable contract.
"I just learned through the years to deal with the situation at hand," Smith said. "Whatever team you're on, you're still going to war with those guys. Whatever happens, happens."
Thunder players are trying not to pay attention to the speculation.

When his two-time MVP left the game with back spasms, Phoenix Suns coach Terry Porter ran his offense through another former MVP nearly twice the point guard's size: Shaquille O'Neal. O'Neal moved into ninth place on the NBA's career scoring list with 28 points and 12 rebounds, and the Suns overcame the loss of Steve Nash to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 110-102 on Monday night.
